The demand for organically grown plants is growing, also from public authorities. As there are currently insufficient local organic plants available, they are often imported from the Netherlands. This project aims to provide growers with the necessary tools to make the transition to organic cultivation themselves. In this way, we can strengthen local production and reduce dependence on imports.

It has recently become possible to grow potted perennials organically. However, many growers are hesitant to make the switch because it presents challenges. With the “Sierlijk Bio” project, Viaverda supports perennial plant growers in taking this step. By sharing knowledge, offering practical guidance and collaborating within the sector, we want to stimulate the organic cultivation of perennial plants in Flanders.
